This three-week series introduces us to the Old Testament prophet Nahum. Nahum was a taunter and a prophet sent by God to Nineveh, long after Jonah had his encounter there. Nahum’s words to the people of God help us understand God’s that' God’s grace, love, and goodness are not separate from his judgment and holiness.

We may have these framed and hanging on a wall in our house. Perhaps we even taught our children to memorize them. They are displayed in public buildings. They apparently are also very controversial, especially in a culture where everything Christian causes some to cry foul. While Christ certainly came to fulfill the law, we must not forsake the commands of God as given in these words. Maybe more than a list of “thou shalt nots” we should look at what the “thou shalts” really are?
