Roe Overturned

Today is a day that many, including me, have been praying for and awaiting. On this day, the US Supreme Court ruled that the 1973 Roe vs. Wade case that created a constitutional right for legalized abortion across the United States was not only egregiously wrong, but constitutionally out of order.

"The majority opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization upends nearly five decades of precedent and allows stronger state restrictions to take effect—including total abortion bans. Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle have been preparing for the shift for years, bringing laws forward that further restrict or assert protections for abortion." - Kara Dapena & Jennifer Calfas, WSJ

While this ruling does not eliminate legal abortion in our nation, it does remove it from a federally mandated law and pushes it back to the state governments. Many states have already put laws in place that will restrict or end abortion (AMEN!) while others are seeking ways to open their borders for "abortion tourism" under the banner of reproductive rights.

We believe that life begins at conception and all, even the newly formed in the womb, are made in God's image. I am thankful for today's ruling and understand that ministry to those who believe abortion is a good, or sadly in some cases is a woman's only option is key. May we continue to serve the Lord by providing services, help, children's care, adoption options, and all that is needed for women needing assistance and help. May we be salt and light to those who have tragically embraced the culture of death as normative. #KeepPraying #ProLife #NoMoreRoe
