Our special guest for this Sunday Seminar is Dr. Timothy Paul Jones. Dr. Jones serves as the Vice President of Doctoral Studies and the Chair of the Department of Apologetics, Ethics, and Philosophy at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. At this seminar, Dr. Jones addressed how apologetics (the defense of the truth of Christianity) is affirmed by the history of the church. Doubts regarding Christianity today are grounded in an area much different than that of just a few decades ago. Dr. Jones states, “The doubts today don’t start with skepticism about Christianity’s miraculous claims; they begin with questions about the very morality of Christianity.”

Our first Sunday Seminar focused on Bible verses that are often taken out of context and misused. Associate Pastor Mike Godfrey taught on good Bible study methods while Pastor David Tarkington, along with Associate Pastors Mike Godfrey and Shelvin Lamb participated in a panel discussion moderated by our Single Adult Minister Brian Borden on commonly misused verses.
